I've got one too.

Recieved a book today, flipped through it, almost immediately noticed that the first few pages at the very beginning of the book have been ripped out.  It's a hard cover book, so when you open it the first page you see is the title page, I have other books in the same series & I looked at them to make sure I was seeing it right and the pages missing are those blank pages and a page w/ a little graphic on it.  As far as I can tell by my other books by the same author same series, it's just 2 pages.  Don't know if sender recieved it that way her/himself or if they did it.

I don't mind reading the book that way at all but I can't repost it, so what should I do?

If the missing pages are not text pages, or otherwise necessary to reading the book, this alone does not make a book unpostable (not a RWAP).  Especially if the pages were neatly removed and not torn so as to damage the surrounding pages/cover.  Some members remove those pages if the book was signed by the author, or included a name/phone/address or personalized bookplate.

If they were ripped out, it breaks the "ripped or torn" rule, but if they were neatly removed, and their removal doesn't compromise the binding, it sounds postable.

I got one of those 2 days ago, not neatly torn out though. I would have to clean up the stray pieces to repost it with a good conscious but since it's before the title page I didn't mark it a problem.

Curious, do others agree that the book is postable, because I would have thought not with missing pages ... text or not.

Never mind, found my own answer.  Others are correct.

No loose or missing text pages

Sorry for taking so long to reply, we have had some sickness here so, you know how that goes...

Anyway... upon closer inspection, meaning I took the book over to the window w/ good natural light and gave it a thorough look over, there's water spots or some kind of liquid on the dust jacket.  So I suspect the pages might have been removed for that reason.  Now... were the pages torn out neatly?  Well, define neatly?  IMO, not so much.  But since the pages were not text pages I guess it doesn't matter.  I still intend to read it, but I don't think I'll repost... it just hate to take the chance of the next person not being so "understanding".

Thanks for all the comments, I had read the missing pages rules before and somehow missed that word "text", so thanks for pointing it out.
