Hi all~

I've just finished this book and I'm thinking it may be missing some pages.  The listing on Amazon says it has 256 pages but mine only had 242 and it ended weird--right in the middle of a scene.

Also, this brand new pre-ordered book from Amazon lost the first 25 or so pages before I was even halfway through the book.  They came out in one "clump", separating from the spine.  BTW, I am NOT hard on books.

What is that called and who do I contact to get a replacement? Will I have any luck contacting Amazon?

TIA

Becky

I have never had that happen to me before!  I have gotten books from Amazon-------both new and used--------and they all came in great shape.  I would definitely contact them and let them know.  They have a return policy and directions on contacting them on the bottom of their home page.  Good luck...................Norma

Thanks Norma--I guess I wanted to hear from someone that could tell me if that's how the book really ends!!

I wasn't sure if the page numbers are right.

after seeing this question, i stopped by a bookstore yesterday and checked a couple of copies.  they all ended at page 242.

i haven't got this one yet and i was trying really hard not to see anything but the page number on the last page, but Rachel Caine seems to like to do cliffhanger type endings in her Weather Warden series, so it wouldn't surprise me to learn she's doing that in the Morganville series now too.

on the damaged part, yes, definitely contact amazon.  and if they don't help, contact the publisher.

She does do it with Morganville Vamp series too...I have the book in my TBR pile but haven't read it as of yet...but I can tell you it does end on page 242, just not how it ends!

Ahhhh that's what I was afraid of!!  That is certainly one cliff hanger of an ending!!

I'm going to contact Amazon about the first chunk falling out.  I know its a wishlist book and was wanting to pass it on.  There's no way in this condition.

Thanks guys for your help--Now I can't wait for the next one--what an ending!!

Becky, I've had great customer service from Amazon.  They've replaced a book I received damaged as well as a DVD box set and their return process is a piece of cake.

I love Rachel Caine, but I really hate those cliffhanger endings.    :)
