Rachel Simon (born 1959 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American writer of both fiction and non-fiction. She graduated from The Solebury School in 1977, and received a Bachelors in Anthropology from Bryn Mawr College in 1981. Her first book, a collection of short stories, was published in 1990. She followed this with a novel, an inspirational book for writers, and two memoirs. Her next book, a novel, comes out in May 2011. In addition to writing, Simon has worked as an events coordinator for a bookstore, a creative writing teacher, and a public speaker. She currently lives in Delaware.
