I've read several of Clancy's books, not all; this was my favorite so far. Good tight writing, of course, with plenty of action, well-enough developed characters, etc. The ending was a surprise, a completely different resolution than I could have expected--and a uniquely appropriate justice for the bad guys.

Best selling author Tom Clancy goes beyond anthing he has done before in Rainbow Six. It is his most shocking story to date-and closer to rreality than any government would care to admit...
At its heart is ex-Navy Seal John Clark, now the the newly named head of Rainbow, an international task force dedicated to combating terrorism. In a trial by fire, Clark is confronted with a violent chain of seemingly separate international incidents, But there is no way to predict the real threat: a group of terrorists like none the world has seen, a band of men and women so extreme that their success could literally mean the end of life on earth as we know it...

Ex-Navy SEAL John Clark plots undercover maneuvers that few have the experience, knowledge, and survival skills to execute. A champion of U.S. causes overseas, Clark faces his greatest challenge yet when he takes on a group of cold-blooded environmentalists bent on threatening global safety.

Another great Clancy book....featuring John Clark's new multinational group called Rainbow Six. The group's mission is to assist nations with terrorist threats. Highly exciting, great ending with nail-biting drama.

another "john clark" book. Written in the tradition of "clear and present danger" or "patriot games". If you enjoyed these, then you will enjoy rainbow six.

I started reading it after playing the game. This book is action packed, and sucks you into the story of an ex-NAVY seal struggling against terrorism.
