When I review a book in the system, and I click on the rating stars to turn them yellow, I'm not sure I'm doing it right, since a red circle with a line through it (Like a "no smoking" symbol, without the cigarette!!) appears next to the stars.  Is this suppose to happen?  What am I doing wrong?

You're doing it right!  =)  The stars turn yellow to show that you've rated the book, and the 'no smoking' symbol is there in case you want to change or cancel your rating.  If you click it, it clears the rating you gave the book.
