This is the second book in a duology, (with Radiant Dawn and honestly it reads like the publisher split the novel. Anyway, its not bad. Not great either, but not bad. Goodfellow links cancer to Lovecraftion horrors in a big way. This is interesting, but seems to remove a bit of the 'magic.'

Ravenous Dusk picks up where Radiant Dawn left off and takes you on a ride through secret government prisons and projects, conspiracies, cult compounds and all over the map. It reads a bit like SF meets technothriller horror, but still, not bad. It also ties to his short story "In The Shadow Of Swords" available for free at http://www.perilouspress.com/images/in_the_shadow_of_swords_final.pdf

In short, the concept is interesting, the execution is OK thanks to the author's descriptive talents, but I found the characters at best OK. A better editor would have helped this book, still, not bad at all though.
