Raymond W. Goldsmith (1904—1988) was an American economist.
He authored dozens of books including the well-known Financial Structure and Development in 1969.
His method for estimating the Roman GDP from meagre ancient evidence provided the basis for subsequent attempts by economic historians such as Angus Maddison, Peter Temin and others.
