I have.  I couldn't put it down.  It was a little dry as in no sex, little emotion or such, but full of action events.  Edge of your seat, he just didn't want to die.   If you like science and problem solving, this will be a enjoyable read.  My engineer brother loved it.

I would like to read it but I am too cheap to pay for it now. The price will have to come down some for me.

Listened to the audio and loved it, and I am not a scientifically-oriented person.  Throughout I kept thinking, Matt Damon would be perfect for this role, and son-of-a-gun, he was!  Loved the movie also.  Every member of the audio swap also loved the book.  Not just liked it, but loved it.

Have you tried your library?  That is where I got my audio copy.

A friend recommended the book and lent it to me too. Now, that's a friend. I started the book and had problems putting it down, it was such a good read. I also saw the movie and enjoyed it. However, like most movie adaptions, the book was better. The movie not only left out a number of actions of the characters that added enjoyment to the reading, but even created a new one to highten the climax. I thought the latter was unnecessary.

I've only seen a very, very, few movies which were better than the book.

I have seen a couple of extended interviews of Weir on youtube. He is a funny guy. The story of how he wrote the book and its evolution to eventual paper book is interesting.

I am # 2 on my library's reserve list so I may be reading it soon.

I got a notice Saturday that the book is in and I am up, but I couldn't get there in time. Library closes at 12 noon on Sat and I got there at 12.07. I'll be there early this morning.

there was a guy a little ways back in this thread who saw the movie. Now that I read the book I probably won't see the movie. I am only luke warm on the book. very good thriller and action sequences but a little too much of the problem solving stuff. went on a little too much for me.
