I saw this book "Ransom My Heart" which is written by Meg Cabot (author of the Princess Diaries), but it says its by Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia...which I find strange.  Its an historical romance (not usually my genre)...the book sounds like a train wreck but I think I may have to read it.  Anyone read it or reading it?

"Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia and star of Meg Cabot's insanely popular #1 New York Times bestselling Princess Diaries books, has"penned" her first historical romance novel . . . with help from Meg Cabot

He's a tall, handsome knight with a secret. She's an adventurous beauty with more than a few secrets of her own. Finnula needs money for her sister's dowry, and fast. Hugo Fitzstephen, returning home to England from the Crusades with saddlebags of jewels, has money, and lots of it. What could be simpler than to kidnap him and hold him for ransom?

Well, for starters, Finnula could make the terrible mistake of falling in love with her hostage.

Princess Mia Thermopolis, Meg Cabot's most beloved character, has always been an outspoken animal-rights activist and committed environmentalist. In keeping with Mia's true spirit, Meg will be donating her advance to Greenpeace."

From Greenpeace

"New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot and her adult fiction publisher, Avon A/an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, are pleased to announce the publication of a new, very grown-up, historical romance by Her Royal Highness, Princess Mia of Genovia. Ransom My Heart is a sweeping, deeply sensual medieval romance that Princess Mia published upon her graduation from High School, as chronicled in the just-released final book of the bestselling Princess Diaries series. Longtime Meg Cabot fans and Princess Mia followers will be delighted by this original work of adult fiction, which Publishers Weekly calls a “delightful historical romance...thoroughly enjoyable and funny.”

Princess Mia and Meg Cabot have announced that all of the author's worldwide proceeds for Ransom My Heart will be donated to Greenpeace. It is printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper and the mill is FSC certified...so Avon A invites you to treat yourself like royalty, and enjoy a sublimely 'green' reading experience!"

I've read  Princess Diaries(1st book) well actually listened to it on audio! and I've read her 3 Heather Wells mysteries..and listened to Queen of Babble..didn't care much for the Babble book but the others were pretty good...so I have no idea how this one would read..the others were kinda funny though.

I've got it on my WL. I saw it when I was looking for some Meg Cabot books for my niece at Christmas. I've enjoyed other books by her so I thought I'd give it a shot.

It's on my WL.  I saw it at Barnes and Noble today and almost bought it.  Even now I'm tempted to go back and buy it.  I have loved everything I've ever read by Meg Cabot. She cracks me up.  I've only read the first 4 or 5 Princess Diary books, but I liked them.  Might go back and read them again sometime.  Except of course for my ginormous, ever growing TBR pile.   :)

I didn't know this but Meg Cabot has published romance, under a diffrent name, before so maybe it will be good.  I think the book is supose to be a book Mia publishes in the last book. IDK, I stopped reading the Princess Diaries books after like the 5th one.

Yeah, she published under Patricia Cabot.  I've read several of them.  It's been awhile, but since they are in my keeper pile they must have impressed me at the time. :)  I'm pretty sure they are all historicals, or at least most of them.
