I am loving the author, Jack Kerley, but for some reason the 5th in the series (Blood Brothers) is out now and I have it. But, the 4th in the series (Little Girl Lost) doesn't come out until 2010. I can't decide whether to read the one I have or try to wait until NEXT YEAR! Whatcha' think I should do?

I wouldn't wait - I'd read the copy you have now. By the way, how does it work that the 5th book in the series is published before the 4th edition? Is this a paperback coming out a year later than the hardback? So would there be a hardcover available perhaps? |

I did a search for Little Girls lost and while there are no copies in the system, both the hardcover and paperback version are there if you want to put it on your wish list. There are 3 versions, the hardcover and one of the paperbacks have 22 members waiting, the third paperback has 2. Hope this helps! Last Edited on: 3/26/09 7:19 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Yeah, Joy, that was my thinking too! I won't be able to NOT read it. I e-mailed the author a couple of months ago because I couldn't find 4 or 5 anywhere. He said that one of them wasn't going to be published in the U.S. because of content and the other wouldn't be published in the U.S. because there wasn't enough selling to warrant a re-print. So, I did find the 5th book from the UK on the website bookdepository.co.uk (thanks again, Cheryl). I saw just recently on his website that the 4th would be out in 2010, maybe the content was cleaned up or something, I don't know. Book readers don't appreciate the mess they make of our book series! I do believe that all available isbn # are listed on my wishlist, tho. |

Ok, I went back and read the email again, he says: "Little Girls Lost (4) is set to publish in 2010. It was scheduled for 2008 but the publisher thought it was a bit for far from the "series" concept they prefer for the first few books (Carson is a major character but notthe narrator). LGL has a character that is a pedophile and that seemed to worry US publishers, tho the overseas folks were fine with it (there's no sex, only the threat). Blood Brothers (5) was published only in the UK, as I don't have a US publisher, since sells were lower than the publisher wanted (book sales are down everywhere). The books sell very well in the UK, Europe, and Japan however.....and were recently picked up in Russia, of all places. Thus, I am sorry to say the books are only available via UK book seller like Amazon UK." I really should learn how to do the blue link thingy! So, now having re-read that, is doesn't sound like I am going to miss anything of importance by reading 5 first. Thanks for listening to the trials and tribulations of this avid reader! |
