We need a  "Have you read this book/author?" thread! I was looking at a book a few days ago and meant to ask if anyone had heard of it, but now I can't remember the title. Grrr....

Now, I'm wondering if anyone has read any books by June Rachuy Brindel. She has two that I'm curious about reading -

"Phaedra" - Theseus, the warrior hero of Greece, attempts to control Crete and the worship of the Goddess by claiming Phaedra, the child-queen of Crete.*

"Ariadne" - Ariadne, Earth Goddess and queen of Crete, struggles to maintain her reign and looks to Theseus, prince of Athens, for help.*

Brindel's books at PBS - http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/browser.php?k=June+Rachuy+Brindel - I think one is posted, so someone could be the guinea pig. ;-)

Sounds pretty good, huh? Anybody read one?

*Summaries are from Worldcat.org.

Oh, Valli...did you KNOW I was just on an Ancient Greece kick?  Did you know I have never heard of those books or the author?  Did you know I have 5 million books on Mt. TBR as it is??

Well, Valli, looks like you've done it again - more authors = more books = more shelves = more glares from DH. I do believe it is a way to ward off dementia. No dementia, but a full blown psychiatric problem like OCD or hoarding disorder, etc.frown

I do believe that you've got the thread started here that we need for this topic, and it should be a much used one!

At my youngest son's baseball game the other day, there was a little girl watching whose name was Phaedra

Nobody requested the book! I thought for sure I could entice one of you into being my guinea pig. Must be losing my touch. Will have to devise a new technique. Drat.

Well, while I have you here...Has anyone read any book in the "Eden" series by Marilyn Harris? The books are:

Eden
1. This Other Eden (1977)
2. The Prince of Eden (1978)
3. The Eden Passion (1979)
4. The Women of Eden (1980)
5. Eden Rising (1982)
6. American Eden (1987)
7. Eden and Honor (1989)

I'm requesting long family sagas with mild sex for a lady I know and was wondering if these would fit the bill. I already have some by Celeste DeBlasis, Inglis Fletcher, and Cynthia Harrod Eagles. If anyone has any better ideas for this sort of book, please post!

Bwahaha. That is too funny, Vicky! I have always wanted to be part of a verb, instead of just being a proper noun,...how did you know?!

LOL!

So, uh, you'll let me know how the book is, right?

Of course, Valli!  I'll be happy to report in when I've read it.

I swear, I read your post that no one had ordered it yet, my eyes glazed over, I clicked the link and poof.  It was mine.  surprise
