Quinn Star has thrived since she quit the FBI, disgusted with the old-boy environment and devastated at the seeming betrayal by Puff, her boss and lover. Almost 10 years later, she has her own law practice, teaches, and is engaged to a judge. In fact, everything's perfect until Puff reappears to offer Quinn the job she always wanted, secret service agent at the White House. She hesitates because it will wreak havoc in her life but finally says yes. Quinn and a woman friend who also quit the FBI are to guard the First Lady, whom, it seems, is off her rocker and about to be committed. Quinn has her work cut out for her, but when she starts to see the same conspiracy afoot in the White House as the First Lady, she dedicates herself to protecting her and exposing secrets, not to mention dealing with her renewed feelings for Puff. Another fast-paced and engaging story from the prolific and entertaining Michaels.
