From the back cover:
Rouke O'Malley can think of worse things than spending a few weeks surrounded by beautiful women--rich beautifu women, at that. After all, he's reality TV's newest bachelor, and he's going to enjoy it. Besides, how hard can it be? All he had to do is pick the beauty he likes best. He never guesses that the woman he'll want is the one he can't have...
Associate producer Portia Tomlinson has spent her Hollywood career turning down pretty boys with great bodies, and Rourke is no different. Or is he? There's something about the sexy investment banker that really pushes her buttons. She knows that getting involved with a contestant would be professional suicide, but still, Portia is tempted to play with fire. Because getting burned might be exactly what she needs...
Very good, an excellent contribution to the getting real miniseries!
I must say, I'm having a nice run of good books! But then, I've never read a book by Jennifer LaBrecque that I didn't like :-)
Really Hot! is the last book in a Harlequin/Silouette series centering around the theme of reality TV. I admit to being a bit of reality TV junkie - EXCEPT when it comes to the reality dating shows. I really hate those shows because they are soooooooo fake. But this series - and this book in particular - was a little bit like a peak behind the scenes of a realiity dating show. The hero was a character in the previous book in the series - as a contestant on a dating show who came in second. But just as happens with many RL reality shows, he was so popular that they gave him his own show. But our hero isn't interestied in any of the women that the producers are throwing at him. No, he wants the associate producer. And the associate producer - who was seriously burned by the "sperm donor" that fathered her son nine years ago and has since avoided men like the plague - finds herself hot for a man for the first time in a looooong time. Despite the many hurdles, they can't resist getting together for some hot action in places where the camera can't find them.
On a personal note, the hero in this story had a bit of the hunky geek Clark Kent thing going on, which totally made me drool!
If you are interested, here is the entire "Getting Real" series list:
- Killing Time by Leslie Kelly (Harlequin, but not part of one of their category publications. It was a stand-alone book originally.)
- Make Me Over by Leslie Kelly (Harlequin Temptation)
- Getting Real anthology (Surviving Sarah by Vicki Lewis Thompson, The Great Chase by Julie Elizabeth Leto and The Last Virgin by Jennifer LaBrecque) (Signature Select)
- Really Hot! by Jennifer LaBrecque (Harlequin Temptation)
This is the final book in the Getting Real series. It was a fun read. It was nice to tie up the loose ends of all the characters from previous stories.
This was my first time reading Jennifer Labrecque, and I will be looking for more of her books.
