I sent a book out about 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing. I'm sure it must have gotten there by now.

I sent another book that same day ,and they received it about a week ago. Anyway, I've been thinking " Should I pm the person and politely ask?

I clicked on where it says to pm them, and says This account is currently suspended or closed...

Will I not get my credit ? because I really needed it.

I'd contact TPTB using the "contact us" link on the bottom of the page and let them know the situation.

Thanks so much! Do you end up getting the credit? He must have had one to order my book.

That is the question you ask TPTB!  We can only guess at an answer.   Sometimes an account is closed or suspended while TPTB work out a problem.

Use the contact us and then feedback and they will tell you how to proceed.

Hi, everyone!

I sent out an audiobook that another member requested from me almost one week ago. It went First Class. I know it doesn't take that long to receive a First Class item from long experience. I tried PM-ing the member, but she is ignoring my message. What should I do? I feel kinda robbed of my 2 credits. Should I PM her again? Help!!!!

I would NOT PM again.  If she is indeed ignoring your first PM why would she not ignore your second one??

It might be that she's in the hospital, on a few days trip, or just hasn't been to the post office this week to pick up her mail.  We all have lives and one week, even for first class, is not long.  I would do NOTHING until it gets very close to the time for the book to become lost.

I sent out an audiobook that another member requested from me almost one week ago. It went First Class. I know it doesn't take that long to receive a First Class item from long experience.

Oh, I wouldn't count on that. I once accepted a job offer by letter and mailed it first class (regular envelope) .... well one and a half  weeks later the HR department started calling me wanting to know if I was going to send the letter, etc (they couldn't move forward with getting me set up with travel arrangements and other stuff because I hadn't formally accepted the job. And, it was becoming a very large issue that they didn't have this letter yet that they were waiting for.).

They finally did get the letter in perfect condition 2 weeks after I mailed it (and thank goodness there was a postmark from the day I mailed it so they could see that I had really mailed it when I said I had ... they made a point of mentioning that they noticed the postmark and that it was indeed what I had told them).

So .... first class might be fast 99.9% of the time .... but you shouldn't assume that it must be a lie of some type if someone does not get as quickly as you think it should arrive.

And, like others have said, for various reasons they might not check their mail everyday.

I think it is too early to worry about this yet.

If you need credits fast for some reason, there is always the option to print postage +DC from PBS, and then you would have the credits when you mark the item mailed. I don't normally mail this way myself, but I probably would if I had an urgent need for the credits.

I would be really unhappy if you were PMing about a book you sent less than a week ago.  I might even be annoyed enough to report you to PBS over it.

First class doesn't always mean it's going to travel in a day or two.  I use an audio rental service that sends the 1st Class.  Recently 1 took 2 wks to travel from MA to VA.

(not to you Lisa-to the person who is pm-ing after less than a week).

It was for me , 3 wks , when I started wondering..

Waiting can be frustrating Grania, but patience is a good thing.  From experience I can say that TPTB will not do anything until the (audio)book actually goes lost, then you pm and wait the specified time...then they can check for you.  Because frankly, about 98% of PBS issues will resolve themselves before the 'lost' date.

If credits are the issue, consider PBS postage or e-DC.  I use PBS e-DC and buy counter postage, my credits are usually tranferred withing 24 hours of mailing.

I wouldn't recommend pm'ing again until just before the book goes lost, or even just after (if it gets to that point).  Some members only pick up mail once a week, others are ill or out of town, USPS is not always consistent whith delivery times (even First Class)...there are many legit reasons the book may not be logged in yet.

Last week I was watching a shipment of several books I had mailed out, the DC showed they were delivered early last week.  I determined to wait at least a week before pm'ing the member (which would have been yesterday) and wahlah, when I checked yesterday they had been marked received.  All done and accounted for!  More than likely, your audio book will enjoy a similar experience.
