Well, I finally have a question for this forum. You can see my problem from the subject line. Although I got 2 copies of the same book from different members, I was only charged 1 credit. I have tried to look up the other member, but I guess her profile is private because the membership directory did not show anything. Any words of advice from you all? The only solution I come up is to wait until the member who did not receive a credit for this book to contact me.

I am new to this site - but did you request and either it wasn't mailed in time or was lost in the mail?   Are both listed in your transaction log?

I forgot to mention this. I think what happened is that one member did not mail the book before the mailing deadline, although she had already printed the mailing label. So it went to another member, and that member also mailed the book.

It sounds like the member who printed the label and sent you the book already got her credit when she printed it.

I received 2 copies of the same book!  This link should answer all your questions.

If the first person did not mark it mailed then it was sent to the next member that had the book.  The second member rec'd the point

Just for info, not only does PBS give two additional days, they also send out "nag" emails of "DID YOU MARK THE BOOK MAILED" to remind the sender they have not finished their end of the transaction yet.  So they may have mailed it, but ignored (or turned off those helpful email reminders) designed to help them get their credit.

If you wish, you can relist the book and then send them the credit if/when it ships and you receive it, but you are under no obligation to do that, either.

It should serve as a reminder to them to fully complete their transaction in a timely fashion or risk not getting a credit.

Even when printing the label, etc, there are reminders that state you must mark it mailed or you will not get credit.

I heard from the first person who did not mark the book mailed. She was in the hospital for a few days, and had asked her daughter to mark the book mailed, but the daughter did not. Under the circumstances, I'm glad I gave her a credit. I would have felt really bad if I had sent a terse e-mail and then not given her the credit. I tend to forget that life can sometimes get in the way of PBS comings and goings. Thanks to all of you for your help. Next time I'll know what to do.
