I Just received a Box of Books and a book came Madeline- the popular story- and it was a hardcover pop-up book. The hardcover book cover was lovely so I was pleased as I  saw it- but then I opened the book and on every page but one the pop-ups were all ripped very badly, did not work and some parts missing. Would it be common sense for someone to not list that book. A child getting that book would not have fun if all the pop-ups were ripped. Guess I need to add that to my requester conditions. This would be a good thing to add to the items that people should not be able to list- totally ripped up pop-up books.  Thanks for listening. What made it even more frustrating is both books I sent her were in like new condition and one even giftable!!

That book was torn and thus not postable.  The person should not have listed it.  I don't know what sort of recourse you have on a BOB since there is no credit transaction, but i would definitely PM the sender to discuss the issue (just do so once you are so mad) and maybe they can buddy you a credit or send you some more book or something to make-up the ripped book that was sent.   There might be some better ideas from the other member who have more experience than me.

Jody,

You do need to PM the member to let her know that the book is unpostable if it is torn.  If the member is unwilling to make it right, you should leave negative feedback explaining the poor quality of the book.  I'm so sorry that happened to you!
