What should I do this is the first time it has happened to me? I just received a book yesterday and when I opened it up it had pages that had been ripped out of it and are gone. I haven't marked it as received yet, because I don't know what to do about it. I didn't have many credits anyway and now I guess I have lost one for this book. Can someone help?

Carol-

Unfortunately you still need to mark the book rcd.  Mark it as 'rcd with a problem', then as 'damaged by sender' and then follow up with a PM to the sender.  There are more details in the There is a problem with a book I received! section of the Help Center.

mark received with a problem- you have to mark it as being recieved, so when you fill out that form thing, put received with a problem. send a pm to the member and ask for your credit back, tell them what was wrong with the book.

Arggh! I totally sympathise with you. I got Diane Mott Davidson's latest book "Sweet Revenge" this week. I just finished it, and found that a previous reader had torn a few pages out of the recipe section she always includes at the end of her books. It's too late to mark it received with a problem, and I can't repost it.

I guess I need to find someone who has "Hard Row" by Margaret Maron on her wish list and also wants a slightly damaged copy of "Sweet Revenge" so I can send them both out together.
