Anyone here with the last name of Brown, who lives in LA 70058? I received a book from this person and don't know why. I don't know if it came from a PBS member, but its a complete mystery so I thought I'd ask. The book is The Windflower by Laura London and I noticed it has 62 wishers! It's what I would call "barely postable". If you sent this book to someone and you think I got it by mistake, please let me know!

I think that was offered up on the Is This on your WL thread not too long ago.

LOL, Anne you won that book.  I know it was not in very good shape, that is why I just chose to give it away.  Remember this thread. http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=158921

Anne, The Windflower is a usually considered a classic in the historical romance genre.  It often appears on lists  of "all time favorites", and is out of print and difficult to find.  Fans still wish the authors would come out of retirement and write the sequil, Cat's story.  Enjoy!

omg I'm so glad I read this thread!  I've been looking for this book for years!

I read this book years and years ago and could not remember the author or title.  All I could remember was a girl taken by pirates (way too common, lol) and a secondary character named Cat.

It seems like it might be ages before I get my hands on a copy but at least now I know what to look for!

Anne, since it's almost not postable and a lot of US are wishing for it, maybe you could do the same thing Sherron did and have another giveaway!!?? (hint hint) LOL

I have two more copies of this book.  One of them is my keeper copy.  But,  I would be willing to use the other one to pass around if any of you are interested in reading it.   You can just keep passing it along to the next person.  When everyone is done just mail it back.  Just let me know.

I would be willing to read it and pass it on to another person if you decide to do that :)

That's what I am going to do.  I will start it in the next few days. When I am done with it I will pass it to another member on the list, I already decided who, if anyone wants to know LOL. Its a good idea to do it this way since so many want this book and its condition is a little iffy.

It's on my WL too.

You could do a Bookring in the Games forum. Everyone puts in a credit.  A random list is made.  The owner of the book sends it to player 1.  Player 1 has a week to read it and send to player 2. Player 1 gets credit back when player 2 gets the book and on down the line.  I'd join.

It might not be postable by the time you get it back although I'm sure most people will be gentle with the book.

Finished the book, it was pretty good! I did skim some parts, shame on me :) I am going to send it on to Rose.

Happy to say I finally got a copy of this book from ebay.  It is a hardcover large print version in like new condition and I got it for $9 so I'm pleased about that!

I don't normally read large print but I couldn't pass it up.  Now I have to decide if I want to keep it after I read it or pass it on.
