Hey all,

I'm going to be receiving 250 to 300 paperbacks from freecycle this week as soon as I get over there and pick them up. They're supposed to be in good condition and a wide variety of genres, so hopefully there will be some wishlists fullfilled for Christmas!!!

I'll let you know when I start posting them so you can see if there is anything new that you want!

lol! that explains it! I keep wondering how everyone has all these 500 book shelf lists. I havent had much luck in our area with freecycle though. I did get a small bag this weekend though. Even got a request from one of the books. Just the one request makes the drive worth it. :)

The point of getting books from freecycle is to save them from destruction and pump them into the PBS bloodstream. There are no social classes or nobility within the book culture. Books are all equally valuable wherever they come from. Thanks, Jean for posting your used books, just as I am posting used books.

What is freecycle? We don't have it around here. All of my books come from Thrift stores and garage sales.

Your welcome Janine!

Janet, there should be some rules posted on the site, but basically if you want to ask for something you just make a post like this:

Subject:   Wanted: paperback books

Body: Hey all, I am looking for blah, blah, blah and so on...

and if you want to get rid of something:

Subject:   Offer: I have such and such to get rid off...

That's about the jist of it!

Happy Hunting!

Tony, do you think there might be a freecycle in my area or Las Cruces, NM? I volunteer at an FOL so that's where I get most of my books, and help support the 3 libraries on this side of the mountain. I HOPE there is a freecycle some where in the area.

Can I add that I've posted 100 books from freecycle in the last couple weeks? Any if you want me to be able to get more, I have to clear these out.  Seriously, this guy has 8 more boxes waiting for me.

I think that the other poster was just saying that it is possible to have that many books even without freecycle.  Not judging you for having used freecycle.

Freecycle sounds great. I wish we had one around here. I never heard of it before. :-(  I think I'll go google it.

Hey Tony-

I don't know what freecycle is either and when I clicked on the link above it took me to a Yahoo group that's no longer opened. What is freecycle?

Hey, I'm for any place that recycles books!! I usually get mine from the library book store and they're usually in great condition! I just listed 40 new ones yesterday myself!

Wow, what did I get into. I signed up for Freecycle last night and listed a handful of items. I woke up to 34 email requests for the stuff. Thanks for the info. I always have stuff i want to get rid of, just never get around to hauling it to the thrift stores.
