I'm looking for something with alpha males and women who aren't overly sappy.  I don't mind m/m or graphic love scenes.

Yeah, the Rachel Vincent series is fantastic! I'm still trying to find the last book though. I'm hoping she decides to do a spin off.

I loved Wolf Tales - Kate Douglas

(I also loved all the other suggestions here. I'm in the middle of Patricia Briggs - Mercy Thompson series right now - Iron Kissed - and I keep dropping what I'm doing so I can read.  I'm used to smutty books though so this one is different.)

I like Eileen Wilks.  She started off as a romance writer.  Her females are strong with their own identities.  Actual jobs and lives.  They don't just roll over because a hulky shifter noticed them.  None of this TSTL.   Tempting Danger
