I've read H. W. Brand's T. R.:  The Last Romantic and enjoyed it.  Other well regarded biographies about him:

- Mornings on Horseback, David McCullough

- Edmund Morris's 3 book biography of Roosevelt:  The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, Theodore Rex, & Colonel Roosevelt

I read The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt and enjoyed it. I admit, I'm not much for bios, but I really like Pres. Roosevelt and didn't know a lot about him. Evidently, you can't fit his whole life into just one book! Fascinating man.

I read Theodore Rex by Edmund Morris many years ago. It is really good. Though if I remember it is only about his presidential years. I also read David McCullough's Mornings on Horse Back about TR's early life. It was interesting.
