We are doing both Lifepac Civics and the Bluestocking Press book & workbook "Whatever Happened to Justice" this year... but I would kind of like to find something else, maybe even a historical fiction or alternative history to dig a little deeper about the way the U.S. government is structured and works.  Plus I've got credits "burning a hole in my pocket" LOL.  ;)

Thanks for any ideas.  This is for a high schooler, though a somewhat reluctant reader so nothing too difficult or high-brow, please!  :)

Edited to add/confirm we are looking just for single-book "pleasure reading" kinds of materials, not yet another curricula/workbook!  :)
