I read a lot of paranormal romance (which i love)....I also like historicals, but it seems every time I think I'm getting one it ends up being time travel or something.  This is what I get for using Amazon for recs.  I really liked Scandal Becomes Her by Shirlee Busbee.  If you all could recommend something for me I would be eternally grateful!  :)  Thanks!

Shannon, you should look at the keeper lists thread: http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=109052  There are lots of good books listed there.

I get lots of ideas here from the forums, but I also love likesbooks.com.  They have a good list of the top 100 romances voted on by users, and it tells what sub-genre it is (it will say TT if it's a time travel).  You can also search their reviews.  HTH!

ETA:  but beware - that site is dangerous.  My reminder list went from about 20 books to more than 200.  Ouch!

I always recommend Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer for a good old fashioned historical romance.    I also recommend Years, Twice Loved and Vows by Spencer as well.

For a good paranormal historical, try The Smoke  Thief by Shana Abe.

I second the recommendation of The Smoke Thief, which was a really good book!

I also really loved Enchanting the Lady by Kathryne Kennedy! It's set in Regency England, but there are some differences, such as titles being passed on to women, assuming they have the magic capacity to pass the test for that title. A few other things are different, too, but I thought it was a good blend of historical setting and paranormal elements.

I'm pretty sure Emma Holly has some paranormal historicals,too-one series with demons and the other with vampires, but I read them so long ago I don't remember which books specifically.
