This story involves Dr. Kit Quinn, a psychologist who interviews people in police custody. During a routine interview with a disturbed man, he breaks a mug and tears up her face, leaving her with nightmares about a red room. Several months later, Kit has to face the same man when he is arrested for murder...

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great read, incorporating violent obsession, serial murder, and the power of dreams and nightmares.

This was an interesting mystery. I liked how the clues were revealed bit by bit as Kit tried to discover the truth about the canal killings.
