This is the first book in the first set of series with the Baxter Family. There are actually three sets of series:

Firstborn Series (5 books)
Sunrise Series (4 books)
In addition, the Above the Line Series by Karen Kingsbury also includes the Baxter family.
The book read fairly well and left the reader with a question as to what would happen with one of the characters. It is my understanding each book will do that. Although there are some books that could be read as a stand alone, this is not one of them. Too many questions are left unanswered, without reading forward in the series, which is the intention of the authors.
