I'm a history buff, and have taken Leon Uris's books to heart! This is the sequel to TRINITY, which is a great novel about Ireland! For anone wanting to know about this wonderful country, I highly recommend both books!

An epic story of three Irish families as only Leon Uris can tell it.

I enjoyed this book. It was part two of the story of the Irish hero that I came to know through reading Trinity. Trinity blew me away so I had to see what happened next, but I did find myself becoming impatient as the author would often reiterate scenes that I already knew from the first book. I admit I skimmed over a few of those sections. I'm not sure if it was the captivating way that the story was written, or learning for the first time of the shocking history of Ireland and the brutally unfair treatment of its people, but I will not forget these two books. Uris did a great job of using this story to dramatically capture the essence of that time and place.

Redemption continues to explore the sage of hte Irish people and the growing momentum of their heroic journey toward independence. Set against the dramatic backdrop of increased unrest in Ireland, adventures in New Zealand and Egypt, and the disaster at Gallipoli, and climazing with the Irish Easter uprising of 1916, this story brings together the characters from Trinity.

If you read Trinity by Leon Uris and enjoyed as I did. The book Redemption by Leon Uris is a must read. It is a conclusion to the Conner Larkin family. But not the Irish situation.
