I have a wishlist book that is unacceptable.  She reposted it again and since I am the first one its came to me and she wants me to decline it so that other people have a chance to read it.

My question is that if I decline the book will I loose my place in line to get the next book?

I never had to deal with this before and I am confused.

Wait, I am confused.

You're on a wishlist for a book, and the would-be-sender wants to send you a book that is unacceptable? Is it unacceptable because of conditions, because it's unpostable, or for another reason?

She needs to cancel and then wait until you get the book from another person before she posts the book again. If it's unacceptable because of conditions, she needs to cancel, repost the book, and deny your conditions.

She feels like its acceptable so she wants me to decline the request to give others that are also waiting for this book a chance to have it.

She cancel the request this morning when I told her that the book isn't acceptable as stated with pbs conditions but she reposted and pm me asking me to decline the request so that others can have a chance to have the book.  There is a piece of the cover missing that is 1/2  inch wide and 3 inches long but since its not missing the cover she thinks its still postable.

If it was a book I have already read and want to keep I would have no problems with accepting it since I was going to keep it.  This book I have never read before so I don't know if after I read it I want to keep it or repost it.  If I don't want to keep the book, I would like it to be repostable.

Anyway, sorry its so long.  I think if she cancels it again she will just repost it and we will be in this cycle.  Can I just wait for the time to run out and it go to the next person without me losing my place in line for getting the next book?

Do not refuse it and do not let it time-out- she shouldn't be posting it.  You will lost your place on the FIFO list if you do either.  Make her remove the book!

If as you feel it is unpostable (I would tend to agree)....and if she refuses to cancel it then I would contact the PBS Team and let them handle it...if you cancel or let it time out you will go to the end of the line.  If the system was working correctly it wouldn't let her repost it until you've received another offer of the book...unless maybe they have changed that feature.

Thank you.  I just pm her so hopefully she will cancel it and won't post it again.

This needs to be reported to PBS. The book is unpostable and she can't keep offering to people for a credit.  She can offer it as a freebie with an order, she can sell it on Ebay or the UBS or she can post it on another site that allows you to post the books condition. But she can't post it here for a credit.

YES! YES! YES!  Please report this and send the PBS team copies of the pms she sent you admitting it is not in postable condition. I get tired of members thinking the rules don't apply to them and that b/c it's a much sought after book they can get a credit off some soft-hearted member who will look the other way.

Defintely alert PBS to this!  Send the copies of the PMs.  This person should NOT be posting that book for credit and if she won't listen to you about it, PBS will tell her.

Don't decline the book or let it time out, you'll lose your place in the WL line.  Alert PBS now before it times out on you.

She cancel the book but she suggested that I make a condition on my request of what I will and will not take.  I don't think I need to do that since the only thing I want is what pbs already  stated.

Thank you all.  If it get reposted again I will alert PBS about it.

I think you should report her anyway. She could just keep checking your WL until she see that you've gotten a copy of the book and them post it again for some other unsuspecting member.

I hope you'll consider alerting Richard anyway.

She posted the book again this morning and I did report it.  It should be resolved now.

Thank you all so much.  You all make this site the best.
