Seems to be written for the YA crowd. Young teen is kidnapped, brave friends rescue him, he returns at the VERY end of the book to his captors. Lots of action and drama. The girl, Ferris, I wanted to smack for being a loudmouth control freak. I'd say it compares to Eragon quite nicely.
