This is Faulkner’s happy, adventurous, award-winning tale with much male bonding and many ensuing high jinks. The novel reads almost like Huck Finn, but not as episodic. You’ll enjoy the tomfoolery and playfulness – a real stray from Faulkner’s usual, serious style of writing.

I liked the story. It is really a neat and adventurous story. I had a hard time with the choppy style of writing. I guess Faulkner is a genius but I felt like I just wasn't familiar enough with the time period to really get everything taking place in the story.
