Most "scientific analysis of religion" is superficial and culture-centric. Pascal Boyer, however, is an anthropologist as well as a cognitive scientist, and his theorizing is well-supported by both field and laboratory studies. I recommend this book to anyone, religious or nonreligious, interested in the variety of human concepts about god/gods/goddesses, and how they have evolved.
