This book kept my interest because muc of it is set in VietNam during the war there, and I spent some three years in VietNam. The scenes in Saigon tell a reporter's eye view of the city, but also immerses you in the situation at the time. I was interested but somewhat skeptical of a female war journalist, however, the story is tied up with her personal life, and I reverberated with the pull the country and the war had on one. She also talks about Tianenman Square the the happenings there which made me understand it much better. I would say, Read this book.
