I put books tbr (so I can see how many copies are already posted, thus helping me decide which book to read next), books I have posted to my bookshelf (so I can see how much longer it may be before mine gets requested), and books that I actually do want to be reminded of (which is what the reminder list is intended for I suppose) all on my reminder list. As I get more and more books added to it, I start to get confused as to which book is which.

If I tag these books, are these tags going to show to all other members, or just me? I'm just looking for a way to be able to glance right at my reminder list and know which book is which without having to look at separate lists I may have as a document, or something like that. I hope all this makes sense :)

Yes, everyone would be able to see your tags, but personal tags are permitted by PBS.  If you tag your books, you'd be able to see which book is which on the reminder list page.

You can also put "sticky" notes on them, which only you can see.

That was a great suggestion about the sticky notes. Thanks so much. It's helped a lot!

You're welcome!

it only took me 6 months(!) to finally use this very efficient feature :)    It only took you 6 days...

The only downside to the notes is that you can't search them. But they are great for doing things like you were looking for: marking books as unpostable, ordered in a deal, on  your shelf etc...,  I have some books in my TBR that I put notes on to track the movement of the WL line to help me decide how quickly I need to read it if I want to post it as a WL book (before it goes from WL to heavily posted).

The sticky notes always show up for you wherever you come across the book in the site.  On other's WL's or bookshelves, on the browsing page (home page), and on your different lists as well as on the book's listing page itself.

The other nice thing about sticky notes is that if you put them on your RL books--when you order a book if you go to the order more from this member bookshelf, your notes will show up and you can quickly scan for yellow sticky notes.
