On a wagon train from Louisiana to Texas, a young woman meets a stranger who unnerves--and fascinates--her. Embers of desire flare into passion as wild as it is forbidden. Because this irresistible stranger is none other than the infamous outlaw, "Kid" Davis.
This was your typical "bodice ripper" style but it was still a good read. The hero had me fooled almost to the end. (He was one of the good guys.) The heroine had your standard "fairy tale" problems--wicked step-mother, the fiendish fop who wanted to force her into marriage, etc. There were some places I actually laughed out loud at some of the come-backs between the hero and heroine and some of the outlandish scenes in the plot but it still made for a good way to pass a rainy weekend.
