I would like to suggest that PBS start a forum for those interesting in commenting on the website itself.

Cross platform problems. Layout issues, CSS faults. Even typos.

Does anyone else think this forum would be a good idea?

Is there one already and I'm just missing it?

For example, I'm using Google Chrome as my browser and this text box stretches about 12,000px to the right of the screen.

Alooooooong way that way ----------------->

Its a simple fix but who can I tell?

Currently, we usually contact them directly on these issues, but I can see real advantages to your idea.  Members could also help other members figure out some of the techie issues.  To suggest this, you would go to the bottom right corner of any page, and under "company" click on "contact us."  Use the "feedback" option.

I've occasionally sent in the exact JavaScript or HTML that will fix a problem. It's been quite a while, but I just used the Contact Us link at the bottom right of the page.

This is from the help docs  Click Here,   to read about

Browser Search Plugins

Configure your browser to work with PBS

Close this Window

Do I need any special software to use PBS?

As stated previously - click on the Contact Us and leave feeback.   It would be nice to have a wishlist/request forum so PBS could just monitor instead of having separate threads in Q&A and CMT and other places.

ETA:  The individual links didn't work.

You could always start an ongoing thread like the Review Clean Up One and the one with tips for writing RCS.

I think that would be a good idea. :)

We (meaning TGs) get a lot of questions about software/browser issues so having a central location to find information could be useful.

I think it's one thing to have an website FAQ for tips and known issues, but don't see the need for a forum on technical problems or other issues. I think all issues that come up that can't be handled here, (such as "Is this normal?"), should go straight to TPTB so they can investigate and fix them.

I think it'll just waste time when no one on the forum can actually do anything about the problem, so it should just be reported straight away.

I agree with Cindy.  TPTB don't monitor or read the forums and since it's pretty much a proprietary system digging into it on a forum probably wouldn't please the owners.

OTOH - a general "techie issues" for people who know tech stuff to discuss it generally might be nice - and it might be a good place for people like me who are doing good to know how to turn on their computer to get help.

I don't see a forum being needed for this.  However - nothing wrong with starting a thread and this forum would be a good place to put it.   As long as it doesn't turn into a "let's nit pick PBS to death" thread, I could see it being used by some.
