Recently, I've received two requests for books that I don't think I posted (and I don't have the book to send).  Anybody else having this issue?  I don't want to keep cancelling the requests and been seen as a bad pbs'er, but don't know what else to do.

Yep, think I will.  I checked it after the first time, but will do that again.

You might also occasionally download your bookshelf to a file.  Then if this happens again you can cross reference the "date posted" value from the request.

Just in case, I would change my password!  Maybe its someone's idea of a not so funny joke.

This has actually happened to me before. It has been a while, but someone requested a book from me that I never had. Weird! I cancelled the request and told them I did not have the book. What else can you do if you never had it?

I've had a couple of requests for books I could have sworn were not on my shelf, but when I went and looked, I had an "Aha!" moment when I recognized the cover and had just forgotten the title of the book.  One was a children's book that I just didn't care for and never read to my kids, but the title sounded like an adult mystery book and that had me kind of confused...it didn't ring a bell for me at all with that connotation in my head.  Once I saw the book, I immediately remembered posting it almost a year previously.  I read a recommendation once to go back and look at other books that would have been posted at around the same time by you.  That might give you a good place to look on your actual bookshelf for the mysterious book.
