Does the 'Request ID' actually serve any purpose?  I hand print my labels and have been putting the request ID for any book I mail out directly under my return address label.  But when I check my transaction archive I don't see any request ID numbers there.  I thought perhaps it was an additional way for the recipient to be sure it was the correct book, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Cindy, great question!  I do the very same thing and always thought that recipient could use Request No. to identify the sender if needed, looks like that's not so, hmmm...

The site is able to use that number to track an order if there is a problem like the label was separated from the package and the receiver didn't get the book or someone gets the wrong book and cannot identify the sender to get it straightened out.

The Request ID is really only useful to the site admistrators, as they can track transactions through that number.  But we, the general membership, cannot really use it.  It is useful, but just not to us!
