I understand the logic behind the system saying "I already ordered the book" and have to wait until it's accepted into the system.

but we have a guest speaker coming to our churches ladies night out in November and I really DO want to order all the copies in the system - is there a way to override this or just have to wait it out?? and hope??!

Thanks.

Are there other ISBNs available?  If not you can try contacting PBS and asking them for assistance.

Your other option is to post about this situation in ....maybe book bazaar forum.........and, if another member/members are willing, you can buddy them a credit, and they can order a copy of the book to be mailed to your address.

I would be willing to do this for you, if you'd like.  If so, buddy me a credit, then PM me with the ISBN of the book , and requestor conditions, and your mailing address.

I can help out as well, DK. Just note though that we won't have the option of RWAPing if the books don't come in good condition.

I can request one for you to if you want to PM the address and buddy a credit.

Just be aware that any that are sent you via a 3rd party cannot be marked RWP if they arrived damaged.

I never understood this.  Why can't it still be marked RWAP?

I actually had this issue, when I ordered a book to be shipped to my brother and the sender sent a completely different book.  I contacted the sender, and he said ship the book back and he'd send me the right one and I said "No, you ship me the right one and a credit and I'll ship yours back."  Never got either.

When I contacted PBS directly, they said that because I specifically didn't receive it that I wouldn't know if there was a problem.  True, but since I had to mark it received and I had to find out from the person receiving it that it in fact showed up, wouldn't it stand to reason that I would also find out if there was a problem?

It really doesn't make sense to me at all.

I've heard that you can contact PBS to waive the one book restriction.  That book clubs and classrooms do so.  But have never done so.  Often have seen teachers networking to order books for each other under the teacher's forum.

With a completelyh wrong book you should have marked it received at all and let it go lost.  Then you would have gotten your credit back.

I think the reason they don't allow RWPs when you have a book sent to someone else is because the non-PBS member might not know exactly what is or isn't postable.  Plus then there's 3 people going back and forth and so on.
