So I posted a book, one that had no other copies in the system yet. It was not WishListed but I did get a request for it just a few days ago. The Requestor's Conditions said, and this is an exact quote:

cover is in good condition, and as long as it isn't 'on it's last legs' - i prefer books that have been taken care of and are not battered and beaten to H*LL and back.

I denied the request because my copy of the book has a cover that is torn in the back (a tear that is like 1/4 of an inch) and the sides are slightly beat up. It could be safe under this requestor's conditions but I denied it to be on the safe side of things. I told them why and said that if they want the book regardless of the condition, to request it again with their conditions turned off.

I logged on today to see that the book was requested with the same conditions still attached to it. No change, it was the exact same conditions that had been attached before.

Should I accept the request or deny them a second time?

Since the condition of the book hasn't changed, I would deny it again. Perhaps I would include a note informing the requestor that he is ordering from the same person, so please either turn off the RC or wait until there are more copies of the book in the system.

I would turn them down again too.

I thought a book couldn't be requested by the same person again once the sender delined the transaction due to the RCs?  I'm confuddled...

I thought they could order it from the book page but not the WL line.  Basically starting over as a new request.  I get these notices when they move books to my RL that sound like I will need to wait until the one copy is gone or turn off my RC.  Which makes me think that it is manual when there are books posted and automatic when they are on a WL.

Also confusesd, was my understanding that once declined the same book would not be offered again to the same RC/member. The system is supposed to be designed to avoid just this type of repeat offers.  The requester must have done some odd manovers, I'd decline again and let her know it's you...again.

The system might be designed with that intention.  But that isn't how it works.  It does work that way for WL books.  But once it is moved on to your RL, it will keep looping to the same person.

So I denied the member but he requested it a third time! I made a new thread: http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=182956

Please post there and help me figure out what to do.
