I'd like to point out that when you see an RC, read it closely!!  I just lost out on a wish listed book because the person who listed it thought it did not meet my RC.  I wanted the Harry Potter books and a set of books by Lloyd Alexander in hardcover...  this was a completely different book.  So, when they canceled the transaction they put in the comments why they canceled it "meets all the other conditions, but not hardcover, do you still want?"

well, i'd love to have it, except I have no way of contacting you because the transaction is canceled, therefore I have NO ACCESS to your name or user ID.  GRR!!!

How steenking frustrating!  I've been waiting on this book forever and ever!!

Can you not turn RCs that are specific to one book off? That's what I would do. You have to have wishlisted books set on NOT autorequest, and when the book is offered you can go in and edit or remove your RC for that book only. Or apply to that book only. That way, you can just leave it turned 'off' for other books that your RC doesn't apply to.

Or do the opposite...if you have more than one RC say 'book from non smoking households and only want the Harry Potter books and a set of books by Lloyd Alexander in hardcover' then I would take out the comment about the HP and LA, put those books NOT to AR and when somebody posts them to you, then you should edit your RC and add your hardcover conditions.

I'm one of those that don't read very long conditions and just deny them outright  (mostly because I don't want to spend the time to read them carefully) and most people don't read the forums so I'm not sure you won't be denied in the future for the same reason.

FYI -- all information, including the cancelling party's name and user ID is available in your transaction archive. So you CAN contact them!

AFAIK, unless they've changed it recently, RC's that are rejected aren't listed in the Transaction Archive, so there's no way to know who rejected an RC unless they provide that information in the reply.

But you can still contact them through PM.  You can reply to the post that says why they can't send it, I believe.

There is no PM. The rejection message is in a EMAIL that PBS sends to you. There is no contact info in it.

That would be in your club communications file or email, not your transaction archive.  And that is from No Reply, isn't it?  Yep.  No reply.

I'm fine with it now...  I just wanted to whine about it yesterday, since i'm low on books!  thankfully i didn't turn my RC's off, because I got offered one of the Harry Potter books!  Oh well!
