Just curious - does the non responder lose their place. Certainly hope so.

Yes, the wishlisted book is removed from their wishlist if it times out. Then after so many times that this happens the account goes on hold I believe as an inactive account. So I look at these as weeding out the abandoned acoounts. It does get frustrating waiting, I tend to post books first that are on automatic request rather than the red w's.

Rebecca,

How can you tell if a wish list book is on auto request without posting it? That would be my solution. I could just post if on auto request.

I post from my TBR list so wishlisted will either be green W (on automatic wishlist) or red W. So if I am looking for a book to post, the ones on automatic acceptance get posted first as then I can print postage and drop it in the blue box the same day.

Sometimes the green W acts like the red W if the member requesting the book does not have credits.

I do still post to the red W's but will post to the green W's first. But automatic wishlist makes things so much smoother.

Your "Books I've Read" list also shows the green and red Ws.

But is the book always posted to the green W wisher even if, for instance, green W wisher isn't in first position and/or if other wishers who don't have the book on auto-request are ahead of green W wisher in the queue?

The red or green W indicates the state of the first wish in line. If you see a green W on a list, then your book is being posted to a person who has it on auto-request.

my pet peeve is the members who have tons of books on their wishlist and when you go to post books to them they don't have the credits to request them. i just posted 11 wishlisted books. 6 of these were to green W's (auto-request.)

i got a message on my bookshelf next to each of these that says the member does not have the credits to request it.  my question is why put your wishes on auto request if you don't have the credits to cover them? very frustrating and a little irritating.

Molly,

Because they still have time to accept the request and purchase credits..some people won't carry a lot of credits anymore.
