From the City of God Series, Retribution is a compelling account of what happens to a 21st-century archeologist who finds herself trapped in 1st-century Jerusalem after travelling through time. Knowing that Rome is about to take brutal retribution again Jerusalem, and also knowing (from her knowledge of history) what the outcome will be, the protagonist finds herself in an impossible position. Should she warn the people of Jerusalem of what Rome is about to do, risking changing history for all time? If she does, will they believe her or kill her as a false prophet? Should they help the people of Jerusalem resist? Blending science, faith, history, and archaelogy, Ingermanson puts together a page-turning tale of suspense, conflict, hope, and forgiveness.
