Return To Me by Shannon McKenna has all the hallmarks you love in her books' passion, laughter and suspense.
Simon Riley is returning home to tend to his late uncles estate. When he was just a young man, he couldn't get out of town fast enough. Everyone had labeled him a bad seed, all but Ellen Kent.

Ellen thought she had put her young love for Simon behind her. She is engaged to another man and running a successful inn. But seeing Simon again has made her question her true feelings.

As Simon works his way back into her life, danger is lurking in the wings. Simon's uncles death was ruled a suicide but things are not adding up and someone wants to keep the truth quiet.

Ellen and Simon have an attraction that is incredible. Each time they connect is more erotic and passionate then the last.

Shannon McKenna tells a tale that will make you reach for the fan to cool off. She is an auto-buy for me and will be looking forward to her next book.

This is the first book I've read by Shannon McKenna, and my first impression is that she writes well. Story-wise, this was a good solid romance. Nothing overly glowing, but just fine if you're in the mood. Through the middle of the book I started wanting to tell Simon to just buck up and get over his hang-ups, but that was really my only complaint! The secondary characters got much more interesting in the second half of the book - by that time I was interested in hearing more of their story.

Interesting story. Wish there had been more of the story instead of it being mostly about sex. Simon's "poor boy me" got a little boring after a while but Ellen's character was good.

I've read a couple of Shannon McKennna's books and I have always thought most of them were okay but nothing great. This one exceeded my expectations. It was fun, intriguing with great secondary characters as well. The plot moved along nicely and it was kind of cool to get the story from different points of view. Simon and El worked well together. And I loved Cora, Missy, and El's mother. I even learned to like Brad, the self-centered ex-fiance. I wasn't sure I would like El at first because she was such a pushover, but that fades really soon and she became a rock for everyone around her again. A lot of this book was about perception and reality when it comes to who people are.

Well worth the read. The sex is explicit so if you are not into that, you wouldn't like it.

I tried to get into this but I'm not a reader of romances and in the first 50 pages it was so boring so I started skipping and skimming and it is just filled with sickening romance, sex, romance, sex and on and on, nothing to hold a persons interest unless you want romance and sex--very boring, needless to say I put it down and moved on.

This was a good book, not up to the standards I am used to when reading Shannon M. This one seemed to lack the depth of character, plot and excitement that the other books have. This was a lets have sex every minute, everywhere and then have a storyline.

This is an interesting romantic suspense due to the strong attraction between the two lead characters and a wonderful mystery.

It's been seventeen years since bad boy Simon Riley hopped a freight train out of town and Ellen Kent's given up wondering what happened to him. Running a successful bed and breakfast in Oregon's LaRue River Valley hasn't left her a lot of time for fantasizing about the one who got away. She's put aside her dreams of midnight kisses and secret passion...until an unexpected visitor knocks on her door. Simon is back. She had no idea that he was a famous photojournalist, working in war zones around the world. But the man is everything she wants in a lover--and more...

Dogged by trouble, Simon swore he'd never return to this backwater town, even to see El Kent. But he had to come back to investigate his uncle's sudden death--and he must face the demons of his past. El's lush beauty still tempts him beyond belief. He knows he can satisfy her most hidden desire, to the point of complete abandonment and total ecstasy. And he's hungry for the sensual tenderness that only she can give--hungry for her.

The last thing Simon would ever do is hurt El, but someone is forcing his hand. Someone who will stop at nothing to keep the past dead and buried--even if it means silencing the woman Simon loves...

A great romantic mystery. The bad boy & the good girl & what stands in their way.

I love Shannon McKenna's stuff as a pretty hard and fast rule and this book was no exception. Simon actually did have a great reason for leaving town seventeen years ago which is nice and the romance between them is both sexy and believable. McKenna does flawed but still amazingly lovable characters that manage to clearly demonstrate their growth in a relationship better than most authors. She very deftly describes how the relationship between Simon and Ellen causes both to change and grow as people without knocking you over the head with it.

In addition, there's a wonderful side romance between Ellen's fiancee Brad and her best friend (the town "slut" Cora) that makes for some awesome scenes. There's a scene at the end where Cora tells him to take his self-righteousness and shove it basically that manages to be compelling, funny, empowering, and not the least bit corny. McKenna has a heck of a talent.
