"She didn't want to talk about God. She didn't want to be preached at. She wanted her husband at home with her. If God supposedly loved her so much, then why was He taking him away?" ~ Standing at the edge of her dreams, Miriam pa...  more »

This was one of the best books I've ever read. The hardships that Miriam had to endure, but it was amazing to see how God got her through them. Her faith grew seemingly with each hardship. I would love to be like Miriam! Robin Lee Hatcher is wonderful writer. Also nothing was predicable, each time I thought I knew what was coming next, it changed! Wonderful Book!

A realistic potrayal of a woman committed to God despite her circumstances. Miriam's unwavering faith throughout the decades of her life not only sustains her, but also impacts the lives of those around her in miraculous ways.

Juliana is 44, and wishing she could start over with a clean slate. When, at an estate sale, she happens across a box of old trinkets marked "My Life,", she hears firsthand the saga of Miriam, the owner of the box, from those who loved her best. The author is reasonably successful in employing the same device Patricia Sprinkle used in The Remember Box, where mementos become cues for the tale. Hatcher progresses through Miriam's escapades as a teenager to her eventual death, interrupting her life story with the present-day reflections of Juliana, who comes to grips with her need for God.

Loved this book so much that I bought 2 copies for Mother's Day, one for my mom and one for my mother in law. I actually bought my copy on a discount stand in a book store. Great book.

This book did not disappoint! Very nice story; real and refreshing. A lesson well learned to trust God in all things. I'd recommend to anyone who needs a good, low-key read!
