Mystery writer Elizabeth George's first collection of short stories. Includes one with her famous Inspector Lynley. Publishers Weekly said "George presents five nimbly written and gripping tales, each with a stunning conclusion."

Five stories that reveal human nature and human weaknesses. From the tale of a marriage built on lies that only death can reveal - to the story of a group of Anglophiles saved from a killer thanks to Inspector Lynley - to the final story about a penniless teacher whose ambition turns murderous. Very suspenseful.
