I have the first 3 of this series but haven't started yet.  I'm currently reading the G.A. Aiken Dragon series, but want to start something new afterwards.  Any comments on the RJ series?

I have a couple of those too but haven't started them yet. They look good to me though. What are you thinking about the Dragon series?  BTW, towards the end Iron Kissed really picked up for me and I'm looking forward to reading Bone Crossed now.

So far I like the dragon books.  I read Dragon actually and was at page 200-something and was like, How are there still over a hundred pages when it seems the story is coming to a close, then realized the book is actually 2 different stories.  I liked it, it held my interest and I read it in a day.   I'll be finished with the first and starting on the second by tonight.

Usually not a PnR fan but love this series.  Just finished the most recent one, and still loving it...I think that might be book 7?

Oh, I was thinking this series was more urban fantasy for some reason.

I love the Rilie Jensen series and have read all the books in the series. In my opinion they run more towards urban fantasy will alot of sex thrown in and I mean ALOT but they are really fast paced and really well written books. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Riley Jensen series by Keri Arthur is UF.  Lots of action, complex plots, and casual werewolf sex.  If you like your heroines to only have sex with the hero, this is not the series for you.  Great world building and character development, even the secondary characters are interesting.

You guys make it sound like the perfect combo or paranormal romance and uf! I can't wait!  They sound really good. I think I have the first two so I'll have to move them on up the list!

I love UF.... but I wouldn't call this a straight UF.  Romance definately drives the plot as well.  I'd say it's a 50/50 split.

Yikes, almost everything has crossover elements these days...there's vampires in the science fiction and werewolves in the historicals!  Riley is UF, with an unusal amount of sex for the genre, thus my previous comment/warning "Lots of. . .casual werewolf sex".  And without getting into unwelcome spoilers, I wouldn't call it straght romance either!  But Keri Arthur is a talented author, and you do know the series is set in Australia?

I love Keri Arthur's books!!  Here Ripple Creek Werewolf books were good as well, although they are more erotica then UF.

and you do know the series is set in Australia?

Yep, Keri is in Australia, she sells in the US though because the fan base is larger.

i admit, i've only read the first two or three in this series, but i've *got* the rest of the series here, including the newest one.  i did enjoy them, but so far i just haven't been picking them up off my TBR pile.  i have so many books to read!

i've got them shelved in my paranormal romance section, rather than in with urban fantasy, but it's definitely not traditional romance.

I just read a Riley Jenson short story today and I will be putting the series on my wishlist. I thought there were definitely some interesting character interactions. Based on my limited knowledge of the series, I agree with the others who are saying it's UF with lots of sex and absolutely not your typical paranormal romance. It's refreshing not to get caught up in the "OMG YOU'RE MINE FOREVER, LOVE YOU!" mutal character obessive love that is mostly what these genres are made up (which i do love!).

"OMG YOU'RE MINE FOREVER, LOVE YOU! I wouldn't be reading it if it contained anything like that.  The most surprising thing to me in the most recent Riley book was the lack of sex.

I love the Riley Jensen series. I think they'd be urban fantasy, too. They are very well written and although there's plenty of sex, it doesn't detract from the complex storylne. That is, the book isn't just sex with no plot or character developement. I can't wait for each new one to come out.

I have the first one on the way.  If I like it, I'll have to add the rest to my WL.
