Riley is in the burn unit in Galveston - he flew down on a private jet from El Paso after the fire. Being only seven, Riley has lots of things he's unsure about. His injuries and the subsequent damage to his family and their relationships magnify his bewilderment.

While I read through the book in only a few sittings, I was disappointed somehow...the plot points are very subtle and it is largely a thinking and relationship book. It's apparent that the author has used her first-hand knowledge of this extremely trying situation to share the horrible things that happen in the aftermath of this kind of tragedy.
