  The miracle of dawn
shifted its weight and became
The night
we still speak that deciduous language
when we’re idle,
premonitions
past lives
little pools for which
my eyes affirm the girth
tongue displays
the temerity of taste
Knees bound, brave in their skin
under round shadows of
fruit
swaying precariously on their
mother limb
