MAJOR blood and gore in this one. If you don't like to read all the nasty bloody details, don't even pick it up.
The first half of the book was actually kind of boring (aside from the disemboweling, face skinning details). I almost just put it down, but I can't stand not finishing a book once I start. The twists and turns in the second half did redeem it a bit as it kept me guessing until the final chapter, so I give it 3 stars.
Pretty good book. A little slow in some parts, a little gory in some parts, overall a pretty good read. I was lead to believe it was a bit more graphic than it really was, so I actually found it a bit tame in that sense. So if that' holding you back, it's not nearly as graphic as some have suggested.
Jack the Ripper is dead, right? Who would slash the body to shreds. then rip the face off America's foremost feminist and hang her our to die? Who would take a pair of twin hookers on a terror trip that made death seem innocent and sweet? Who would turn a secluded island gathering of bright and beautiful people into a carnival of carnage?
What grim and grisly figure stood, dripping knife in hand, at the end of the most horrifing trail of death and deception Detectives Robert DeClercq and Zinc Chandler ever followed? A lot of people are dying to find out!
This is written after the Headhunter story so if you liked that tale you may even like this one better.
