Evidently Mr Ludlum enjoyed writing both "The Road to Gandolfo" and "The Road to Omaha" -- very different from his usual fare!

"Mac" and his cohorts (not all of whom are willing cohorts) fall into one tense situation after another and will keep you laughing.

"Mac" operates under the assumption that the ends justify the means... and his ends are always meant for the very best!

A very different kind of Ludlum that combines his usual fast paced suspense with laugh out loud comedy that I found surprisingly enjoyable. The story revolves around a plot by a rogue American general, his four ex-wives & a sharp army lawyer to kidnap the pope and hold him for a huge ransom, only to find the pope wants in on the deal.

Early Ludlum. Who knew Ludlum wrote comedy/suspence? There are actually some laugh out loud incidents.

Gandolfo is to the Pope as Camp David is to the President.
