Good romance; slightly different than the usual, since it's set in New Orleans and many characters are French instead of British. Nice change from the norm.
Juliette Armant, pledged to the church sinch infancy is called home to save her family by marrying. Once wed she will claim an ancient family chest. Once to be claimed by her twin sister it is now discovered that she, not her sister, was the first born. She prays for help, lighting a candle in church. Leaving church she encounters Nicholas Pasquale, swordsman, and a small boy she takes as his son. He says the boy needs a mother....is her prayer answered so quickly? A bargain is struck between them. But, someone is determined to stop this wedding.

Highly recommended. Great storyline, interesting characters and twin sisters who are like two sides of a coin.
AWESOME! This is a great series so far...can't wait for the next one!
An unusual time period for a typical romance novel.
This was excellent reading. The plot was kept you thinking about what was going to happen, right up to the ending. Very good ending!!!
LOVED IT! Made me smile and cheer and laugh and even get mad!
They are the notorious swordsmen of New Orleans, bound by a brotherhood of loyalty, skill and courage--infamous by day, dangerous at night, loyal only to each other and the women they love
At ease making life-and-death decisions between breaths, maître d'armes Nicholas Pasquale proposes marriage to a beautiful and desperate stranger, a woman who offers comfort to his irascible young charge and calmly tells him the boy needs a mother. It is a challenge he can't resist.
Nor can Juliette Armant. Though pledged to the church since infancy, she's been summoned to save her family in the only way possible...by marriage. Once she is wed, she will claim an ancestral marriage chest--and protect its secret contents from the dubious intent of her twin sister, who wants the treasure all to herself.
Juliette never dreamed such a practical arrangement would explode with heady desire when a rogue's kiss unleashes the sensual woman within. But someone is determined to stop the wedding, willing to go to desperate lengths to claim the chest, plunging Juliette into a fight to claim a legacy and a love worth any price.
I enjoyed this story. Newly out Mira
